File Cabinet Flaw

On the plus side, the file cabinet looks nice, was easy to assemble, and seems fairly durable. On the minus side, it was advertized as being able to hold both letter and legal size files in the large bottom draw. The reason I selected this file cabinet was it met my size specifications in height while claiming to be able to hold legal size folders which are the only kind I use. It turns out the cabinets ability to hold legal size files is only partly true. While the bottom drawer does accomodate legal size files, the files cannot be removed from the drawer if the handle pull for the second drawer is installed. Because the cabinet just exactly holds a legal file, with no space to spare, there is no give in inserting and removing (but more problems with removing) the files. They must be inserted and pulled out straight up and down. To use the large drawer with a full drawer of legal files, I cannot install the drawer pull on the middle drawer so it is functionally useless.

I really like the style of the pedestal, but the day after I put it together, the wood chipped/is breaking off at the inside corner of the top drawer

Excellent Product for the Price!

I purchased two of these for my new office and I love them!! Very little assembly required - only attaching the casters. I love the style of the cabinet; a very clean, modern look and different from anything else I had been considering. Made of wood for a rich look, and the color is exactly as represented. Although not represented on the photo, there is a fifth caster on the bottom drawer that provides additional stability for that drawer. One other "plus" was that the height of the cabinet was (27") which was perfect since I have a work area that is 28 1/2" high and posed a problem since other cabinets were between 28 - 28 1/2" high which could have created a little bit of a tight fit.
